Finding Her Voice

This past week Lilly really seems to have found her own voice.  Certain times during the day she talks non-stop and enjoys hearing herself make squealing noises.  It is so cute!  She especially enjoys talking to her dad and her Grandpa Bill, and me first thing in the morning.  Her babbling is giving us even more of a glimpse into her personality.  Can’t wait to hear more of her!

Rolling Over

Lilly was first able to push herself over onto her side at four weeks, but stopped doing this once she started gaining weight.  This past week she has been grabbing both of her feet and rolling over onto her side.  She has also pushed herself onto her side when she is on her stomach a few times.  Way to go Lilly!

Thumb in Mouth

Lilly is gaining more control over her arms and hands each day.  This past week we have caught her with her thumb in her mouth on several occasions.  We are hoping she finds her thumb so that we can get rid of the pacifier, but we need to stop swaddling her first!  I’ve tried several times but she still wakes herself up and won’t go back to sleep with both arms up….maybe it will be a bit easier in another week or two?

Update:  I’ve been trying to swaddle her with her right arm out.  Today she cried when her pacifier fell out right away but then fell asleep with her thumb in her mouth!  It didn’t work the second, third and fourth times she woke up, but at least we’re heading in the right direction!

Lilly’s First Halloween!

Yesterday we celebrated Lilly’s first Halloween!  She wore her ‘My 1st Halloween’ t-shirt and dressed up as a flower to help pass out candy.  We did not go door-to-door this year because it is a bit cold, but we’re already thinking about what she will dress up as next year!
