Weight:  7 pounds 14 ounces
Length:  20 3/4
Head:  36.5 cm

We are enjoying every minute with our new little bundle of joy.  The first 2-3 weeks were exhausting for me because I was feeding her every 30 minutes to an hour (so basically all the time) during the day, but now that we have the ‘feeding’ stuff figured out she is eating about every 2 hours and I feel like I finally have some time.  She recently started smiling at us and also loves her butterfly mobile and Lilly’s favorite ‘bird book’.  Robin seems to be an easy baby and does well when we’re ‘on the go’ with her big sister.  It has been taking me quite awhile to get her down at night (sometimes up to 2+ hours even though she’s not very fussy during that time) and usually wakes twice to eat and wakes us up a few other times when she stirs or is uncomfortable (bad gas).  She’s typically asleep by 10 and up between 7 and 8.  Can’t wait to see what the next month will bring!

Lilly at 22 Months

Hard to believe we’re already planning Lilly’s 2nd birthday party!  You might be able to tell from this photo that Lilly has started picking out her own clothes.  Sometimes this makes for quite a colorful combination!  I am blown away by how well she is doing with Robin and how she is adjusting to having a little sister in the house.  She certainly has a lot of distractions with my parents being here but regardless is doing far better than I would have imagined.  At this point she repeats much of what we say and is picking up new sentences and phrases daily.  She still speaks in 5+ word sentences and is able to carry on conversations with most people.  Lilly is also able to apply more complex questions to correct situations, asking “where is it?” and “what hapenned” frequently..unbelievable.

Purple Milk:  Lilly still drinks rice milk when she wakes up in the morning and from naps.  The milk tends to be in a purple sippy cup and this past month she asks for her ‘purple milk’ immediately upon waking.  I bought new blue sippy cups last week and she would not drink from them!  Had to have her ‘purple milk’!

Special Treat:  Nana Judy bought Lilly a rice krispie treat with sprinkles and called it her ‘special treat’.  For several nights afterwards Lilly expected this after dinner and, in her cutest and most pathetic pouty face, asked for ‘more special treat’ repeatedly.  Needless to say she’s not getting any more of those!  🙂

Mother’s Day

This Mother’s Day was extra special for us because of the recent addition of Robin and my mom being in town to celebrate.  We had the moms and dads over for brunch and broke out the new waffle maker.  Lilly was in especially good spirits with all the attention and Robin slept most of the time in the baby sling.  We hope everyone had a Happy Mother’s Day!!!
