With Bill travelling during the week we are especially thankful for the good friends and family we have here. Lilly and I have multiple classes and playdates scheduled throughout the week and have playtime and dinner with Nana and Bapa accouple nights a week. Aunt Terry’s beach and Barb’s pool have also provided lots of splish-splash fun for us this Summer. We are so busy during the week that we look forward to having ‘down time’ with dad over the weekend and not planning so many activities!
We just returned from 10 days at The Beach! Lilly and I flew out on her birthday and Bill joined us from Houston later that night. Lilly did GREAT on the plane both ways (was even complimented by 8 different people on the way back) and we were able to have a relaxing and fun-filled family vacation. Bill and I did an overnight trip to Vancouver and one to Seattle. We got in plenty of running and hiking and Lilly LOVED playing in the mud flats. Lots of beautiful sunsets, kayaking, and good food. We can’t wait to make it out again next Summer!

Today we celebrated Kristy’s first Mother’s Day. We had a brunch for all of the Gray mom’s in the morning and spent some fun family time in downtown Birmingham in the afternoon. Lilly was extra super-cute for mom today. 🙂

Lilly is cruising! She started walking along the fireplace hearth for the first time early this week. She’s also working on her balance – standing up while holding on with just one hand and letting go of things with both hands for just a moment before falling down.
Check out this video of Lilly cruisin’ with Cousin Jason:
Lilly’s first Easter was very busy. We celebrated a week early with Grandma and Grandpa Gray because they went to Florida for spring break. Doesn’t Lilly look cute in her bunny ears (see picture below)? My parents, brothers, and cousin were in town for my grandmother’s funeral. We had a special dinner in honor of grandma at Oakland Hills and a family brunch Easter morning at the Hunt Club. With so many people in town Lilly got to ‘eat out’ on several occasions – Bill and I can’t believe how good she is every time we go out! We hope this keeps up!
My mom is in town for the week. Here is a video of us doing the chicken dance with Lilly on Sunday night!
I’m pretty sure she thinks Grandma and I are a bit ‘coo-coo’! 🙂
Lilly is a busy bee! Mondays we meet with the Beaumont Moms Group (either a formal meeting or to walk the mall), Wednesdays we take a Kindermusik class, Fridays we go to Gymboree, and Sundays are reserved for daddy-daughter swim classes at Goldfish. Since she stays home with me I try to get her out for ‘social time’ once every day. We also see Grandma Judy and Grandpa Bill and try to meet up with Laura & Arbor and Karen & Heidi whenever possible. Next week I’m going to start taking her to the daycare at the gym on Tuesdays and Thursdays so that I can work out. I feel like the first 4 months went by rather slowly, but now that she is so busy and moving about the weeks go by sooo fast!
Judy and Bill were in town this past weekend. We spent Saturday with them at my parent’s – started the visit out with lunch at the clubhouse, showed them around Pebble Creek, played with Lilly, and had veggie lasagna for dinner.
On Sunday Bill, my dad, and I met them for a hike to the summit of Squaw Peak. It was quite the hike – 1.2 miles to the summit with a gain of 1200 feet. My dad even made it to the top! We ate lunch at Ajo Al’s and were greeted with a big smile from Lilly when we returned. It was nice to see Grandma and Grandpa Gray!
We have been in Arizona since Christmas Day and are enjoying our time here. It was so nice to spent time with my brothers, cousins, and niece. Lilly adjusted to the time change immediately – I was actually surprised. Her naps were on schedule and she slept right through them. She was also mostly sleeping through the night. I’m certain that watching Leela wore her out!
Leave it to our little girl to change her sleep patterns on us once everything settles down! The past three nights she has been up several times a night. She isn’t hungry – just needs some help settling back to sleep. We think she has hit her 6 months growth spurt or has a little bug (Todd and Bill have both been sick. I’m sure it will work itself out shortly. Meanwhile I’m sleeping better than I have since she was born, which is wonderful.
We have taken advantage of the weather each day. It doesn’t get any better than 72 and sunny – which it has been every day this week! Bill & I visited Scottsdale Sunday and sat by the pool and Lilly & I have taken daily walks and even played pickle ball. I have made it to the gym every day and started running again. Bill has done a lot of intense bike riding as he continues to heal from stress fractures. I have been riding bikes a lot as well. Actually, I’m kind of upset that I let my mom take my old bike to AZ with her!
