Lilly has quite a bit of her daddy’s engineering skills in her. She is VERY intent on figuring out how everything works. Yesterday at Kindermusik the the teacher noticed this when Lilly followed her around the room watching her strum the guitar. Lilly would watch Ms. Margaret and then try to mimic what she was doing. As she moved around to give the other babies a chance Lilly was right behind her, ready to learn to play the guitar. Whenever Lilly gets a new toy she is captivated for several minutes until she ‘gets’ it, and this week she started correctly putting shapes into the proper hole in her shape sorter. I’m pretty certain Lilly is more likely to follow in her father’s career path rather than my own.

Now hold on there mom … give her a chance to find her path.
I was absolutely sure that Ryan would be some kind of Biologist, zoologist of marine scientist. He spent hours studying creatures of all kinds, bugs under rocks ,worms in the ground , birds in their nests, fish. He would even try to pull crabs out of their shells.
Tyler was going to be a ranger or forester , park guide , forest fire fighter, Maine canoe guide anything to do with being outdoors and being active. I could not keep him in the house. Now he likes to be inside and is a physics major…of course I could never leave him alone because he would take everything apart. I think we went through about 5 phones(the rotary kind :-)) hmmmm Kaly … she loved to talk and talk and talk… seriously we all needed ear plugs. but the jury is still out on her path. Now your husband, he loved to play with water when he was little. I think he got a garden hose one birthday . oh… and he liked to vacuum too I believe…:-)
I love the cups she is playing with … those were Tyler's favorite!
Lilly is so cute I can not wait to see the little engineer this summer, give her a hug from me .
Glad to hear you are coming this summer. Do you know the dates yet?
Marysue and Eddie are going to be here July 11 to July 21. Probably start at Nipigon and then come down to Bloomfield. Mom
We used to call Billy the Hydo-engineer. He loved hoses and sprinklers and would create all sorts of siphon rube goldberg set ups. Well, he did do the engineer part. He was always figuring things out. I remember one time, when he was three, I walked in on him taking the weather striping of the the door – standing on a chair with the correct screwdriver. When asked what he was doing he replied in a matter of fact voice, "removing this" , like I was stupid not to know.
Judy
ha … how about the time he stuck a car key in the electrical outlet because he was pretending he was driving a car and that was the ignition . Guess the smart cells hadn't quite all connected in his brain at that point 🙂
ah… yessss MOTHER HOOD, never a dull moment.
Or when I had a friend come over for a play date when he was four – I was in the kitchen getting everyone lunch and as I glanced out the window I saw Billy in the apple tree sawing off a branch about 4 feet above the ground. When I ran outside and asked why Billy was in the tree with the saw she responded that he told her he was "allowed" and he really seemed to know exactly what he was doing.
