Lilly loves telling stories that begin, ‘once upon a time’. At school the kids sit in a circle and tell stories after nap time. Lilly’s stories often have to do with Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, which is the only show she will watch on television. Here is a story that she told me today (with no prompting or interruptions): “Mommy, I’m gonna tell you a story. It goes, once upon a time, I went for a walk on the moon. It was a sunny day. It (the moon) had stripes, and polka dots, and horses, and lions. The end.”

At times she confuses ‘asking a question’ with ‘telling a story’. She’ll say, “I’m going to ask you a question” and then procede to tell a story or vice versa. She has quite the imagination!
