Yesterday was Bill’s 29th Birthday! We celebrated Thursday evening at his parents house. Judy made our favorite peanut chicken and Bill asked to have mango pudding for dessert, which we made together Wednesday evening.
Yesterday we went to the Chop Shop in Birminham to prepare 12 meals for the freezer. We now have plenty of goodies (including the homemade cookies, zucchini and banana bread, and spaghetti sauce I made earlier this week) to get us through the first few weeks without leaving the house too much. We also went out for Korean BBQ at Shilla, which was the location of our first date.
Bill was kind of hoping that he would share his birthday with our little girl. Although that didn’t happen we can’t wait to celebrate her birthday soon!

Feliz cumpleaños, Bill!
Kristy, mango pudding sounds deliciosísimo. I'll have to get the receta from you. I'm loving the idea of the Chop Shop. It would definitely help when Im teaching full time again and dreading cooking dinner for myself each night. [pouts] I wish we had one in Cville!!!
I had so much fun preparing Bill's birthday dinner. I wish I had a photo of the patio with the balloons! I don't think you will have to worry about preparing meals with Faye in town and me waiting in the wings to help out anyway you need me. I thought it would have been fun if Flutter was born on Bill's birthday too – but first babies are almost never early or on time. I guess Flutter just wants to be the princess of her own birthday!
Love, mom
One of our doctors said that 80% of first time moms give birth before their due date, another said that it's 50/50. We'll find out soon!
Another topic is the discrepancy in term length between a first and subsequent pregnancy. Rich Evans', who is a Darden professor with a PhD is financial statistics, claims that the first term tends to last longer than subsequent terms, and this difference is not accounted for in the due date prediction. His wife is a women's health professional who has researched this topic extensively. On the other hand, our doctor in Charlottesville says there is no difference in term length between a women's first and subsequent pregnancies.
Hey "Great" Aunt MarySue,
Where have you been? I miss your comments – you won't have many more days to comment before Baby Gray "Flutter" is here.
Judy
I wish I could have seen a picture of your patio with the balloons, too, Judy! I know it was a fun birthday dinner for Bill. Gee, I've never heard of Mango pudding, but it sure sounds great. Where did you get the recipe KIristy?
Love to all, Faye
Hi Judy and all
I am BACK!!! we were in VT and just got home. Kaly had a Hockey showcase to go to .
52 college coaches were in attendance scouting.
Talk about pressure!…anyway I am off topic.
Ryan was LATE , Ty and Kaly were both early.
It all matched their personalities ,
Ryan: stayed in as long as he could , did not want to leave that warm safe place and he made a huge stink about having to leave it too. almost 28 hours of labor , scalp monitor and everything.
Tyler:… came out so fast that his eyes hemorrhaged coming through the birth canal . scary to look at but he was ok. he was crowning in the elevator going to delivery.
Almost did not make it.. Tyler was in a BIG hurry to get out of that crowded place and get going.
Kaly: came out facing up ..sunny side up as the doctor said , she wanted to see everyone and would have none of that facing down stuff. she would have been born quickly too as I was ready to push when we arrived but the upside down thing was more work.
still faster than Ryan though.
Billy and Kristy, it is interesting to note the full swing of things. When I was giving birth Tons of people used midwives and you were almost looked down upon if you used drugs to deliver.
it was all very natural and back to basics for my generation. no bottle feeding or hospitals .
we were all very cool 🙂
Listen ..as long as you do what is best for you … that's what counts.I personally feel that they should offer delivering mothers wine to relax them before delivery…gotta be safer than demoral
🙂 are you rolling your eyes Judy?
anyway ..we are all counting the days … I'm thinking she will come on Ty's birthday! The 19th or….
Maybe she will come after the 23rd and will be a LEO just like Ryan , Me and Grandma Peggy.
